E-invoicing under AED 50 million: start in July 2027, with QuickTax
If your annual revenue is under AED 50 million, you appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 31 March 2027 and move to e-invoicing on 1 July 2027. QuickTax is building e-invoicing into its service and plans to have it running for clients by the end of 2026.
E-invoicing in the UAE arrives in phases, by revenue. Ministerial Decision No. 244 of 2025 and its amendments set the dates, and version 2.0 of the Ministry of Finance’s guidelines, published on 26 October 2026, keeps them. For most small and medium businesses the deadline is five months away.
What changes
| Who | Appoint an ASP by | E-invoicing from |
|---|---|---|
| Annual revenue under AED 50 million | 31 March 2027 | 1 July 2027 |
| Annual revenue of AED 50 million or more | 30 October 2026 | 1 January 2027 |
| Government entities | 31 March 2027 | 1 October 2027 |
- An ASP is a service provider accredited by the Ministry of Finance. It converts your invoices into the required XML format, sends them to your customer’s provider and reports them to the FTA.
- Until your go-live date, e-invoicing is voluntary. It has been open since 1 July 2026, and administrative penalties apply only from the date it becomes mandatory for you.
- Whichever provider you choose, your business starts the onboarding itself in EmaraTax.
What to do
- Find your row in the table.
- If your revenue is AED 50 million or more, your ASP deadline is 30 October 2026, so act now. If you keep your books in an ERP such as Odoo, its e-invoicing option is the quickest route: Odoo partners already sell add-ons that connect it to an accredited provider.
- If your revenue is under AED 50 million, you do not need to sign with a provider today. Use the months until 31 March 2027 to put your TRN, customer details and invoice templates in order.
What this means for you
Connecting through your ERP’s provider now makes sense when your own deadline is this week. A business under AED 50 million would pay for a provider months before it has to use one. Our advice to those clients is to wait for QuickTax.
How QuickTax helps
